We proudly present the new CEMS Club Board & Team members for this semester. We will try our best to make this semester legendary! Onward with our members:
Position: President
Name: Patrik Akrenius
Major
& CEMS Schools: M.Sc. Finance; Aalto/HEC Paris
The president of the CEMS Club is responsible for coordinating the activities of the club and working with each team to see that the term's objectives are reached. I have been positively surprised by how many people wanted to take part in creating a memorable semester by joining the club board or the teams. Working together with these people, we aim to support the CEMS students during their studies on multiple levels while also raising awareness of CEMS MIM as a high-profile joint degree program.
After returning from my exchange semester in France, this first month back at Aalto University has already been hectic but great, and I have met a lot of talented people from around the world. I'm looking forwards to keeping up the traditions that are carried from one semester to another, leaving traces over the years as the CEMS program is running at Aalto.
Position: Vice President
Name: Sarah Montonen
Major & CEMS Schools: M.Sc. Economics; Aalto/St. Gallen
My
responsibilities as VP are supporting the President and sharing tasks and
responsibilities with him; as well as guiding and participating in the
organization of events for students. My most important responsibility though is
to help make this semester the most amazing it could be - for both exchange
students and locals alike.
My
personal goal for this semester is to make the most of all the opportunities we
are given. CEMS is really a unique program that offers great opportunities for
students to develop themselves both academically and professionally. Another
goal not just for myself but also the Club is to promote the CEMS name in
Finland, as it is still somewhat unknown.
Position: Treasurer
Name: Olga Lehtinen
Major & CEMS Schools: Aalto/FGV-EAESP
Responsibilities &Goals:
My tasks as a
treasurer include managing the finances of the club, budgeting and applying for
funding from external counterparties. I wanted to make the most out of my last
CEMS semester and at the same time guarantee that everyone has an unforgettable
experience in Helsinki, so joining the Board was a natural choice.
As the treasurer my
goals are to enable the execution of all planned events and secure the continuation
of the Club.

My responsibilities as the Head of Communications & PR include all marketing-related tasks concerning the Club. In close cooperation with my team member Gabriele we keep all CEMSies posted about upcoming events and activities. Our goal during this term is to get the best out of CEMS and to try our best to promote the CEMS message not only to our fellow students but also to Finnish corporations to expand and strengthens the CEMS network. Major & CEMS Schools: Corporate Communications; Aalto/WU
Major & CEMS Schools: Corporate Communications; Aalto/WU
The social team organizes various events throughout the spring, everything from movie nights to parties and trips. We make sure there are always some interesting events to look forward to in the middle of all the studying!
Joining the board was not a difficult decision for me, since I think this is the best way to shape the CEMS experience into what it can be at its best. My simple goal this spring is to make sure everyone enjoys their semester at Aalto. If you have a great idea for an event we could organize, please feel free to contact me!
Position: Alumni Relations
Name: Donàt Végh
Major & CEMS School: Management & Leadership; CUB/Aalto
This semester I am responsible for alumni
relations in the Board. In our team of three, together with Ha and
Mikko, we are aiming to form a bridge between current Aalto CEMS
students and the alumni community. Social events will help us getting to know
each other, and the Student-Alumni Mentorship Program will provide
opportunities for alumni to share experiences and for current students to seek
guidance in their personal and professional development.
My main goal regarding CEMS this semester is to
be involved in as many of the CEMS Club’s activities as possible, as the
international community is one of the best things for me in CEMS. I also hope
to gain some insights from the courses and academic activities regarding what
to do after my studies. Besides the CEMS program and my studies in management,
I am interested in psychology and considering a career in organization
development.
